The Presidents' Tailor
Florida Premiere
From the horrors of Auschwitz to the hallowed halls of the White House, The Presidents’ Tailor chronicles the remarkable life of Martin Greenfield, a Holocaust survivor who reinvented himself as a master tailor to America’s most powerful figures. Born Maximilian Grünfeld, Greenfield's journey began in a small Ukrainian village before the atrocities of Auschwitz and Buchenwald tore his world apart. After being liberated by General Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1945, Greenfield immigrated to the United States, where he built an iconic menswear empire and became widely considered the greatest tailor in America.
This documentary captures Greenfield’s optimism, resilience, and the unique bond he shared with Eisenhower, the man who liberated him and later became the first US president to wear his suits. For over seven decades, Greenfield tailored for every president from Eisenhower to Obama, along with a Who’s Who of the entertainment industry, all while holding steadfast to his principles of quality and care.
Now at 91, after a legendary career, Greenfield’s legacy lives on through his family-run business, where his influence continues to shape the world of bespoke menswear. The Presidents’ Tailor is an inspiring tribute to an extraordinary man who, despite witnessing the worst of humanity, never let go of his smile.
