One Big Happy Family
World Premiere
On her 40th birthday, Rachel is grappling with a looming mid-life crisis and the nerve-wracking task of delivering a speech at her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. But when a DNA test unexpectedly reveals that she’s only half-Jewish and her beloved father isn’t her biological parent, Rachel’s life is thrown into disarray. Suddenly, she’s on a wild ride of family chaos, discovering new siblings of all backgrounds, and embarking on a journey with her mother to find her “real” father. Their adventure leads them to a shady private investigator, a bumbling gynecologist, and a tattooed ex-con half-brother. Through it all, Rachel uncovers a deeper understanding of who she truly is—a devoted mother, a passionate (if currently unemployed) actress, and, most importantly, her mother’s daughter.
This joyous, heartfelt comedy stars the legendary Linda Lavin, a two-time Golden Globe winner, Tony Award winner, Emmy Award nominee, and Theater Hall of Fame inductee, alongside writer/producer Lisa Brenner (The Good Guys) and Dante Basco, celebrated for his roles in Steven Spielberg's Hook and as the voice of Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
This special premiere event will include the attendance of writer-producer-actress Lisa Brenner and producer Grace Lay, who will introduce the film and participate in a Q&A after the screening.
