The Other Widow

Special Presentation

It is only after the sudden death of Assaf, her married lover, that 34-year-old costume designer Ella gets the chance to learn more about the playwright she both loved and admired. While her colleagues, who knew about the long-term affair, expect Ella to keep silent, she struggles to contain her grief and finds herself coming to the home Assaf shared with his wife Natasha every day during the shiva, gradually making her role in Assaf’s life known to all. Nominated for 9 Israeli Academy Awards (Ophirs) including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress, this stylish and intriguing drama stars two of Israel’s leading actresses – Dana Ivgy and Ania Bukstein – and compassionately explores the tension between the two women, but also their undeniable emotional connection.
