East Coast Premiere

This joyous film straight from the heart offers an emotional journey into the world of a movie-obsessed kid growing up against the vibrant backdrop of New York City. It also explores his touching bond with his enigmatic father, an Austro-Hungarian Jew whose adventurous life played a pivotal role in igniting his passion for cinema. Crafted entirely out of a treasure trove of film clips from over 200 movies and personal archives, Emmy and DGA award-winning director Richard Shepard (The Matador starring Pierce Brosnan, HBO series Girls, NBC series 30 Rock) mines the material for clues to understand the cinematic DNA that makes up his identity. A film lover's delight and a celebration of cinema’s communal experience, this lovingly crafted ode to the joys projected on the silver screen is a touching celebration of moviegoing. The love for cinema has never been so clearly expressed, without tricks or artificiality, in a film!

The special premiere event will feature director Richard Shepard in attendance to introduce the film and participate in a Q&A moderated by former Miami Herald film critic Rene Rodriguez
