Our (Almost Completely True) Story

Florida Premiere

An aging screen legend and jobless voice actor navigate the Los Angeles senior dating scene in this (mostly) true-life, delightfully sincere romantic comedy. When they first meet in North Hollywood, Mariette Hartley (Marnie) and Jerry Sroka (Godspell) could not be a more unlikely duo. She’s tall, famous, and classy. He’s short and hides behind Groucho Marx and Woody Allen impressions. They compare notes on past marriages, pointless auditions, and their favorite classic movies. Out-of-work actors of a certain age, they face the indignities of Hollywood assistants oblivious to names and agents who ignore calls. Despite the baggage of ex-spouses, earlier traumas, and health crises, as these opposites attract, they find it’s never too late for love the second time around. Featuring “Who’s Who” of memorable cameos by Bernie Kopell, Morgan Fairchild, Tess Harper, John Rubinstein, Peter MacNicol, and Sam McMurray, this adorable crowd-pleaser was written by and stars the legendary Mariette Hartley & Jerry Sroka based on their own story, and directed by Emmy-winner Don Scardino (30 Rock, 2 Broke Girls).
